These lecture notes are primarily developed to be a student handbook and secondarily to be a reference book for getting acquainted with the field of coastal dynamics and coastal engineering. More in-depth knowledge can be found in the overwhelming amount of coastal engineering literature. At several places in the lecture notes reference is made to selected literature. This is done by giving the author(s) and year of publication in the main text, whereas the full reference is given in reference lists at the end of either part of these lecture notes. It is of course recommended to consult other literature also. Below an overview is given of relevant text books, journals and conference proceedings.
