    Exercise 2A

Right-of-way contracts, also known as easement agreements, are negotiated between the landowner and the pipeline operator, granting the operator the right to construct, operate and maintain the pipeline on the property. If a natural gas pipeline were being planned on your property, what are some of the points regarding the easement agreement you would want to discuss and clarify with the land agent?

    Answer

There are a number of points a landowner should consider when negotiating a natural gas pipeline easement agreement. Many of these points will be discussed in the following section. At the end of the section you will have the opportunity to review your answer in Part A and make any changes or additions based on what you learned.
