Image Formatting:
Elements > Templates > Template:AddFigureCenterCenter
Click on the placeholder, then select "image" from the menu. Click "Attach Files" and upload the image you want to use. Select "responsive" unless something else looks better. Add alt text. Save.
DO NOT upload the figure into the figure caption. Be sure you've selected the placeholder image. If formatting turns out weird, see Emily's video at the bottom of this page to resolve.
Captions
All figure captions need to include proper attribution. See the example below.
Be sure to adjust the figure number by replacing the "1" with the appropriate number.
"Public domain" is not a license but rather an artifact enters the public domain either after a period of time since creation, or by will of its creator. Thus, the caption should read "This work by FirstName LastName is in the public domain."
Video Formatting:
To insert a video: Elements > Templates > Template:Video Block
Replace "Video Title" with the name of the video. Add a 1-2 sentence introduction to the video. Click on the video, click "edit video", paste the url to the video you want. This object will be replaced with a QR code in the pdf/print version.

H5P Formatting:
To insert an H5P activity: Elements > Templates > Template:QueryH5P
Click the + sign to open. Where the number "1" appears, place the H5P ID number for the activity you want. Our LibreStudio Collection of H5P activities is here.
Inset Box Formatting:
To insert an inset box: Elements > Templates > Template:BoxNote
Be sure to change the heading style to the appropriate heading level (the box title is automatically set to heading 5). If the previous heading was H2, the Inset Box should be H3 (it is "inset" after all).

Sketchfab objects or other embedded content:
To insert other embedded elements: Elements > Templates > Template:BoxInteractive > Switch to HTML mode and add the embed HTML code of the object you wish to embed.
Add interactive element text here. This box will NOT print up in pdfs. We are working with the LibreTexts team to have these produce a QR code when a reader produces a pdf.

Troubleshooting formatting issues
This video describes an issue that I (Emily) encountered a couple of times while reviewing chapters in LibreText. This video is a candid view of my troubleshooting process and I hope that it might help you if you encounter weird formatting, particularly in the pdf export of your LibreText chapter.
