    Figure \(\PageIndex{1}\): Current ripple cross lamination. Flow is mostly to the left near the bottom of the image and mostly out of the rock in the upper part of the image. The numerous scoop-shaped laminae demonstrate that the ripple crests were sinuous.

    Figure \(\PageIndex{3}\): Current ripple cross lamination. The flow was mostly either into or out of the rock. The scoop shapes demonstrate that the ripple crests were sinuous.
