    Introduction to Weather

    In this chapter, we focus on the processes and systems that shape our daily weather, beginning with a study of atmospheric pressure and temperature and the crucial role of humidity. As we dive deeper, we'll explore the awe-inspiring power of extreme weather events—thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes—and understand their profound impacts on our lives and the environment.

    We will also explore the methods and technologies meteorologists use to collect weather data, from high-flying satellites to ground-based radar. A secondary focus will be on global atmospheric circulation models, and the science of weather forecasting. This chapter will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of weather phenomena, the tools used to study them, and the vital importance of accurate weather forecasting in safeguarding our communities.
